Role: Network engineer
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 31.03.2025 (optionally longer)
Location: 90 % remote, 10 % NRW (currently mainly Cologne is planned)
Language: German and English
Capacity: 5 days a week
Job Description:
Tasks and requirements:
- Design, implementation and management of network environments
- Lead data centre migration projects, including planning, implementation and post-migration support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to network infrastructure and data centre operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of our new network environment with other IT systems.
- Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of our network environments.
- Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of our network environments.
- Develop and maintain documentation for network infrastructure and migration processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and company policies for security and privacy.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco switches and Cisco routers +++
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto +++
- Proven experience in leading data center migration projects +++
- Very good knowledge of different network topologies +++
- Knowledge of scripting and automation (e.g. PowerCLI, Python) ++
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation +++
- Experience with Cisco NX-OS +++
- Cisco Zero Trust Architecture Guide +
- Experience with F5 Loadbalancer +
Other:
- Willingness to travel
- Willingness to provide a current police clearance certificate
